Thelm Mae Short 85 Oblong, Illinois died Sunday May 27,2001 at Good Samaritan Hospital Vincennes, Indiana. She was born September 10, 1915 in Brownstown, Illinois in Fayette County. Thelm was the daughter of Grover C. Crenshaw and Cora (Kelly) Crenshaw. On July 15, 1931 she married Clone Russell Short who died April 8, 1989. Thelma sewed caps and gowns for E. R. Moore in Newton for 20 years. She was also a homemaker and member of the Shilo Christian Church. She taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and played the organ at church. In 1973 she moved from Willow Hill to Oblong.

She is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-laws Ray Dean & Donna Short, Harold & Nila Short and Keith Short; 7 Grand children Nancy Kay Loy, Richard Dean Short, Carolyn Lynn Osborn, Tammi Ketury Gast, Randy Manning, Jamie Sue Chiddix and Chadley Heath Beck; 12 Great Grandchildren 2 sisters-in-laws Leah Crenshaw & Lottie Crenshaw along with several nieces and nephews. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son Ralph LeRoy Short, 1 Grandson Bobby Ray Short;and 2 brothers Harold & Roy Crenshaw.

Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
